If you are using dhcp, update the dhcp-common and dhcp-client packages.
The issue was name servers supplied by the dhcp server not going into
/etc/resolv.conf if the dhcp server did not supply a domain name. If you
had a different bug, please give more info or file a bug at
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com (search first).
BTW, add a contrib urpmi source for cooker
(http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon if you don't know how or:
# urpmi urpmi.setup
# urpmi.setup
)
And then try tpb
# urpmi tpb
It should work on next login to X, just try changing your volume, or
removing the power.
Also, please give these a test if you are interested:
(If you are running RC2 with the default kernel:)
http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/cooker/thinkpad-2.4.21-0.11mdk-4.1-2mdk.i586.rpm
(If not, just ensure you have kernel-source installed and a kernel more
recent than 0.12mdk, and rebuild this srpm:)
http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/cooker/thinkpad-4.1-2mdk.src.rpm
Then, you should be able to use this as a normal user logged into console/X:
http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake9.0/tpctl-4.2-1mdk.i586.rpm
You should be able to run tpctl, and also /usr/sbin/apmiser (need to fix
the location now that it works non-root with no extra setup) as a normal
user.
(tpctl doesn't build cleanly with gcc-3.2.2, and I haven't gotten around
to fixing it, so no build from 9.1/cooker yet).

Buchan
