[ltp] OT--600E Harddrive

Per the M$ website (
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/evaluation/sysreqs.asp ),
installation of XP (Pro, the only one worth spending money on) requires a
minimum 233MHz (single or dual processor) CPU. When we took the M$ XP
Implementation class (Course #2272B), they had mentioned a specified minimum
of 2GB hard drive space (I just verified from my M$ course manual, Module 1,
Page 3), but the website currently lists 1.5GB minimum. They say that it
will run with 64MB of RAM, but when I loaded it on a DeskPro 350/64 at work,
it truly crawled! Pitiful indeed.

Realistically, I'd recommend a "minimum" 500MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, and
at least 3GB of hard drive space, and this is if you only plan to install
Win XP and Office XP. If you plan on playing with any heavy duty graphics or
productivity/database apps, I'd kick it up a bunch from there. Just my $.02.
