[ltp] Mandrake 9.1 and T30

I've been using Mandrake on various machines for some time but recently
acquired a T30 and installed Mandrake 9.1. The install went fine except
that it neglected to install the pcmcia package and then I had to fiddle
with the /etc/sysconfig/pcmcia file to get the operating system to
recognize the modem card.
Here is my only remaining issue: suspend works very poorly if at all.
Occasionally after pressing the suspend key combination (Fn-F3) the
machine will suspend and then reactivate when asked to. More commonly it
just hangs, especially when asked to wake up. This is quite annoying and
has forced me to switch my wife to the WinXp side of the machine because
she can't handle the difficulties involved in rebooting. Anyone else
have this problem and find a solution?
Thanks, Nelson Hogg
