This is the display manager - I don't like Mandrake's new one. But you
can change to KDM/GDM login manager.

You do know about su/sudo ?

Yes (and it's nasty!) but you can change this option in KDE Control centre.

?? Do you mean Ctrl-Alt-Fx, or virtual desktops?
