Load apm :-) (Just what comes to my mind first...)
"Nothing" means nothing happens, no crash? Then it really could be that you
or your setup system *forgot* to load the apm kernel module, or that you are
running acpi, with which I have no idea of how to configure hibernation...
Beware: On my X30, if I press Fn-F12 before loading apm and then load apm,
the system goes into hibernation right when the module is loaded.
