(1) Has anyone researched this for for the 390e and/or x?
I would like to have a DVD/CD burner combo.

(2) Has anyone heard of upgrading the 400MHZ PII in the 770Z
      to something hotter ( MMC-2 PIII) ?

Thanks,
     Bert

AFAIK the 600 was the first model which uses standard slim line drives,
whereas the 770 still uses a proprietary type of CD drives, like my
765. So it's hard to replace the drive in a 770 with a standard drive.
