Hi Andreas!
No, glxgears runs (with 100%cpu) without making any sounds. just the fan
goes on because of the high cpu use.
How can you change different AGP modes?
If you want, I can send you my (kernel2.4.22mm4).config and/or xf86conf4
I'm using an installed and updated (Debian-)Knoppix 3.2
The output is
knoppix@l1:~$ glxgears
1534 frames in 5.0 seconds = 306.800 FPS
1440 frames in 5.0 seconds = 288.000 FPS
1440 frames in 5.0 seconds = 288.000 FPS
240 frames in 6.0 seconds = 40.000 FPS
240 frames in 6.0 seconds = 40.000 FPS
(1st 3 in mini-window, last ones in fullscreen)
