[ltp] Wireless problem with new kernel (SuSE 2.4.10 to 2.4.18)

Hi,

I recently tried upgrading the kernel on my 300mhz Thinkpad 240
running a SuSE 7.3 distro. I was going from 2.4.10 to 2.4.18, using a
SuSE kernel rpm designed for this distro.

After I was done my orinoco gold wireless card stopped working. My
wired ethernet card was fine. I did not check other pcmcia cards
before restoring the machine to the 2.4.10 kernel. I would like to
sort this out so I can upgrade the kernel.

As a side note, does anyone have any sense on how well a newer distro
will perform on the 300mhz Thinkpad 240?
