That shouldn't be a problem. Resizing is simple as long as you haven't moun=
ted=20
the partition. If you additinionally need to move it, it get's tricky..

Why not use a CD(e.g. Knoppix).
Building your own isn't hard, either.

If you plan to do it regulary, I'd suggest rsync.
