[ltp] Suspend on T40, 2.6.0-test8

Hi all,

I've got a T40 on which I've installed Gentoo. After a couple weeks of
ignoring my real job I've gotten most things working. (Alexander Gran's
page at http://zodiac.dnsalias.org/misc/t40p.html was extremely useful
in getting the video and touchpad running properly.) I haven't yet
tried to get the madwifi Atheros driver running, but at the moment
suspend/resume is much more important to me.

I am currently using kernel 2.6.0-test8 with the radeonfb line length
patch for the console, and XFree86 4.3.99.14. I'm using the radeon
driver from the XFree package, although the ATI binary (v3.2.8 I think)
worked as well.

Anyway, when I close the lid with X running the screen blanks and turns
off, but the rest of the machine continues running. Upon opening the
lid the screen turns back on but remains black. (I just checked

Who's gotten this to work with accelerated 3d graphics (the machine's
useless otherwise)? Which video driver? Do you have to switch out of X
or not (I seem to be able to switch TO a console, but not back).

If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate them. My .config,
dmesg output, and XF86Config are at
http://www.its.caltech.edu/~jordanb/ but I'm excerpting some relevant
lines from the kernel config below. Thanks in advance.
