At least for the T2x series the default configuration is like that that
the trackpoint gets disabled as soon as the mouse is connected (switch
actually happens on bootup, since it's a bios thing).
However, you can edit the setting in the bios settings, with the wi*dows
tool or with tpctl.
I imagine that it's similar with the newer series.
Just shutdown, disconnect the mouse, power up the notebook,
trackpoint/trackpad should be working again.
