mounted. I don't use a whole partition but a file.
/dev/hda2 1897 3251 10243800 c W95 FAT32 (LBA)
/dev/hda2 on /data type vfat (rw,noatime,umask=6000)
gandalf data# ls -palo save2dsk.bin
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root 1153433600 2003-07-22 13:57 save2dsk.bin

No

I'm using /dev/hda2, I don't know if it *has* to be. The file was
automatically found by the BIOS.

Dunno. Primary in my case.

I was able to hibernate using APM + Fn+F12. Using ACPI, the keystroke is
simple ignored. I can't sleep/hibernate/swsusp for several reasons (ACPI +
Atheros WiFi drivers)
