In the old days (last year), restore disks came with Thinkpads.

Nowadays, you have to beg and plead, unless you have a failed hard =
drive. Then, if the system is still in warrantee, they will ship you (1) =
a new drive; and (2) the "recovery" CD. But, AFAIK, that recovery CD =
will build exactly the original system (Win98/w2k/xp, whatever, plus the =
restore partition).
