The Dell Inspiron I bought was a p4 2ghz M .. it was 1400 uk pounds and
had 512 ddr (266), 60 gig hd, 15" 1600x1200 (32 bit) panel, dvd/cdrw
etc.
It really is a nice thing.
I like thinkpads but I'm not sure if the myth about their superior
quality is substantiated these days. Everything seems to be made as
cheaply as possible ..
Ultimately the only major difference is the casing and what grade panel
you get surely? All the motherboards must be using similar if not
identical chipsets/gfx solutions/ide controllers.
