This is an X server issue, not a kernel issue. If you switch out to a
Virtual console before suspending, things work quite smoothly.
I'm told that an XFree86 server built from the latest CVS sources has
this bug fixed. Unfortunately, it was fixed after the 4.3 release of
Xfree86.
