What do you have for the alsa driver in your modules.conf file? I don't
have my old settings (I'm running RH 8.0 on an A22p now) but I do
remember there are settings in the modules.conf for the alsa driver.
Without these, the cs4236 module will not load in any of the 600 series
machines. I suggest visiting the ALSA web site and retrieving the settings.
