As far as I know, the key combinations only work with APM, at least for =
me, I'm not sure how ot map the keys to their proper functions, anybody =

Subject: [ltp] t30 fn+f3 screen blank does not work
What software controls the fn+f3 key combination? In Windows XP, fn+f3
blanks the screen (turns both the screen and backlight off) and if I =
boot a
Knoppix 3.3 cd, the screen blanking also works (turns lcd and lcd =
backlight
off), but under Gentoo with a 2.6.3 kernel and ACPI, the key combo does
nothing. There is no dmesg output for the key combo nor does acpid =
generate
an event as it does for the suspend combo. =20

I have screen blanking enabled in the bios, and when the screen times =
out,
the screen (either console or X) will go blank but the backlight will =
stay
on. How can I get the screen and backlight to turn off with the fn+f3 =
key
combo and after the screen timeout like the Knoppix cd?
