[ltp] Laptop screen too dim

Hi folks,
this is not necessarily Thinkpad- or even Linux-related, it's more of a
general question about laptops. The LCD screen is fine to use in indoor
environments but one of the great things about having a laptop is to be
able to go outside and work outdoors, in the backyard, in the park, in
the woods... Unfortunately, I can't see anything when I'm outside. The
screen is too dim. Yes, I know that running on AC power you get a
brighter display. I actually use an external battery (NCharge, which I
highly recommend) that fools my T30 into thinking it's plugged in. But
it's still too dim.
It occurred to me that an obvious solution would be to have LCD goggles
to plug into the external monitor output. This would also save a lot of
power. However, I haven't seen any such gadget, other than VR 3D goggles
for gaming. Hey, if some of you folks work for IBM and want to steal my
idea, that's fine, just send me one for free and I'll be happy :)
So is there any ideas that you guys use to work outdoors? Or is it just
hopeless?
Hector
