The trackpoint might require the synaptics driver in contrib be loaded. If
you have a contrib urpmi source setup, just 'urpmi synaptics' and then follow
the instructions in the readme. If you need more Mandrake specific help on
this, you will have much more luck, and more freindly responses, on the
Mandrake newbie list.
As for the CD1 issue, there is a bug in the iso that prevents the first cd
from booting on some cd-rom drives. The workaround is to boot from cd2 and
then insert cd1 when prompted.
