Thank you for the reply...  ACPI wasn't compiled into the kernel at all,
the times that I tried it.

I guess I'll download the sources for the FC2 kernel (going to try
2.6.6-1.435 as that seems the most recent 2.6.6) and see if that works.

I'm using Debian Sarge, custom built kernel patched only for skas UML
host mode, along with xfree 4.3.0.dfsg-1.
