As I said last week, the current xorg driver doesn't handle this
correctly just yet (although you may try cvs). ATI's last code drop
included a major crtc/output code rewrite to handle situations like
this, however, with the deadline for the next xorg release looming and
the tree being in a feature freeze the code did not make it in. I
suspect it will go in after the next xorg release (late august). If
no-one beats me to it, I'll try to port the new changes in the coming
weeks as I have time and make an anouncement here (when I or another
developer has made a new patch or committed the changes to xorg cvs) .
