Thanks, either that or the framebuffer driver did the trick. The font
doesn't change when an init script loads some font. What is the
relationship between the mode number as specified by "vga=", and the
screen pixel size / rows & columns / character cell size? (Just realized
I had put "vga=0x791" by accident and it worked, so the number is most
likely interpreted as hex by default.)
