[ltp] Dead Battery

During the night my ThinkPad inexplicably shut down (I usually leave it 
plugged in and powered up). I see that the battery appears to be dead, but 
when I plug in the AC to recharge I see no battery charging indicator. 
When trying to boot, it gets as far as showing the RAM and then it shuts 
off (despite having the AC adaptor plugged in).

Do you think the battery is dead or is there something more seriously 
wrong?
