If /etc/resolv.conf is empty, that is your problem.
You need to boot into Windows and do ipconfig /all and write down the
DNS server IP addresses.
Then, in linux, edit /etc/resolv.conf and add the DNS servers, like so:
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Add as many lines as you have DNS servers.
That should fix it.
