I agree...the trackpoint is the single largest reason I buy
Thinkpads...nothing else comes close.  IBM caved in and has a touch pad
in addition to the TP on my T42p, but touchpads really suck because the
pointer moves a bit as you take your thumb off, so it's impossible to be
precise.
Toshiba used to license the TP...my last Toshiba notebook had one but
that was six years ago.
