Actually, the 600E was assembled in Mexico in a plant just over the 
border (I forget right now what this is called) of parts made all over 
the world.  Most of the 600E was manufactured in the United States, 
Japan and Taiwan.  In any case, most of the Thinkpads made lately were 
not "Made in the USA".
