[ltp] FC 3 strange slamr loading

Hi,
I compiled slmodem, but when I try to load it with modprobe, it does nothing, hangs and I even can't kill it with ^C. Insmod is the same when I  try it from the directory where slamr.ko is located, it wont find it from elsewhere.
When I kill the rxvt, start another one and check lsmod, the slamr it there, but trying to start slmodemd gives me error about non existing device (the file /dev/slamr0) is there.
Any ideas?
