OK, so I have a T40, kernel 2.6.9 (ACPI support, no APM), 775872 KB RAM says
top (what happened to the other 10560 KB?), 32767 KB video RAM says XFree86.
When I run swsusp (no arguments), it prints stuff on an unused terminal
similar to this:
Stopping tasks: ================================|
Freeing memory: ..........|
Restarting tasks... done
(Don't remember exactly what it said, as it went by too fast and I don't
know how to get back to it, but I think that was the gist of it.)
It adds this to the log:
Dec 19 01:05:01 linux kernel: Stopping tasks:
================================|
Dec 19 01:05:01 linux kernel: Freeing memory: ..........|
Dec 19 01:05:01 linux kernel: PCI: Setting latency timer of device
0000:00:1d.7 to 64
Dec 19 01:05:01 linux kernel: ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:00:1f.1[A] -> GSI 11
(level, low) -> IRQ 11
Dec 19 01:05:01 linux kernel: ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:00:1f.5[B] -> GSI 11
(level, low) -> IRQ 11
Dec 19 01:05:01 linux kernel: PCI: Setting latency timer of device
0000:00:1f.5 to 64
Dec 19 01:05:01 linux kernel: ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:01:00.0[A] -> GSI 11
(level, low) -> IRQ 11
Dec 19 01:05:01 linux kernel: Restarting tasks... done
The command exits, then the OS carries on as if nothing had happened. What
do I need to do to enable suspension on this machine?
