Ouch. Just out of curiosity, what version are you using? I've got PM 8,
maybe this was corrected in the newer version?

Usually when I backup, I create images and then burn those to CD so that the
attributes aren't changed. A few years back I ran into the read only
phenomanon at work when backing up some files to DVD. It took me forever to
figure out what had happened!
