Hi,

So, I've done a fair amount of reading on the subject, including this
list's archives.

What I found so far, as that I can use atitvout t to get a text console
displayed on the TV screen
After that, I can actually use mplayer -vo vesa to play video.
Except that it requires an NTSC set, since atitvout pal won't work for
me (bad VBE call)

Has anyone had luck running an X server in vesa mode at that point to
get X on the TV output? (if so, would you mind sending me your
XF86Config/xorg.config separately?)

Can this be done in addition to running a separate 1600x1200 accelerated
X server on my LCD? (i.e. run a separate TV only X server)

Now, I've also had to switch from some XFree 4.4 cvs build that was the
only thing I could run at the time to get 1600x1200 working on that
(--) Chipset ATI FireGL Mobility T2 (M10) NT (AGP) found

It had a few problems, like dodgy xv support, and would crash on 3d
apps, so I upgraded to X.org 6.8.1-0.4 (debian). This works great, but
I don't think it supports TV out.

So, if I understand correctly, my options are:

- fglrx from ATI, except that:
  - it won't work with X.org 6.8.1 from what I hear
  - it doesn't support ACPI S3 and S4 (suspend to Ram and Disk) from
    what I read either.
  Is that still true?

No idea about this one. I'll try this next, although if it works or
doesn't work for you, please let me know.

Thanks
Marc
