I've got a Thinkpad 701c (the butterfly) as a "toy".  Windowmaker
works pretty well, and Dillo (www.dillo.org, last I checked) makes a good
web browser, as does good old Netscape 4.

... But I wouldn't want to run any kind of office apps on it.
