[ltp] pcmcia troubles with a TP 600

I own one of these and run the gentoo kernel 2.4.22gentoo-r7. I use the kernel drivers but separately emerge pcmcia programs. I own a cisco wifi card that gets recognized when the computer "feels like it". I also have noticed that plugging a 56k modem in and popping it out of the pcmcia turns my unit into an electronic paperweight. I have not had time to properly troubleshoot it but I suspect that there might be some tweaking that needs to happen in the way pcmci_cs gets initialized. Perhaps someone out there has figured this one out (I am using the latest bios version).

According to IBM, the TP600 supports 16/32 bit 3.3/5v type 1/2/3 cards
.. this card is 3.3v type 2 so it seems like it should be compatible...
