A very quick follow-up to my own mail ;)

Interesting...

http://tpctl.sourceforge.net/PS2-ref.txt notes that "PS2 HFILE" should
do it -- on PS2 version 4.22.

However, the current PS2.EXE, version 4.37a, taken from uttcpdos.exe on
the IBM support website does *not* support that, at least when run from a
WinXP command window: "ps2 hfile c" gives the generic usage message 'Type
"PS2 ?".' The "hfile" subcommand doesn't show up in any of the usage
messages.

The 'Hibernation Utility Diskette II for Standalone Boot', stndalhd.exe on
the IBM support site, seems like it could be an alternative -- except I
didn't buy a floppy drive. ;)

This seems like it might be messy. :(

Is the "PM_HIBER.BIN" file a standard format? Can I create it myself, by
just dd'ing a file with some kind of std header format? If so, any
tips?
