I haven't needed to use maintenance services ever but one of my co-
workers needed to replace a busted motherboard on his A31p. Our offices
are around 5-6 km from the IBM Repair Center here in Helsinki, Finland
so we just dropped the laptop off there and got it back fixed the next day.
The service was courteous and professional and the repair technician didn't
get confused when the A31p had something else than Windows 2000 on the hard
drive :)

People like them because they're rather cheap (even the high-end) compared
to the higher-end Thinkpads. The dells have a more plastic feel about them
and do tend to break down more often. I also like the trackpoint much more
than a touchpad.
