Maybe you dreamed it or somebody told you crap :p
The Pentium M (which is part of centrino) can switch between more than
two frequencies and voltages.
Actually, that's imho the biggest advantage of the _enhanced_ SpeedStep
technology.
Have a look in the Intel Pentium M datasheed (25261202.pdf) for further
information.
