I'd buy more RAM if I were you. SODIMMs have never been cheaper, and
getting 384M would make *everything* faster.

It should be OK as long as you make sure you've got the XV extension
available so that xine can use XV to display video instead of the
slower XShm. "xdpyinfo | grep XV" should return the line "XVideo". If
it doesn't, post the output of "lspci | tail -1" so we can find out
which video card you have. If you have an ATi video chip, you might
have to go to http://gatos.sourceforge.net/ and grab their X modules
instead of using the ones that came with your distro. HTH,
