I just got my "new" IBM thinkPad 770x, and like it alot. Except I can't
get debian installed. It came without any manual(s), so I am not able
to read up on this model.
Under windos98SE, installed on the computer, and needed for 4 projects,
I have to turn off the built modem, and the built infra-red devices to
free up resources. Once I do that, then my 3Com 3C562 lan/modem card
will work.
I cannot find anything in the funky bios, to turn off these devices. I
have downloaded the dos utility, but with not floppy to boot from, I
cannot seem to get this utility to work.
I've grabbed the archives for the mailing list, and search for "disable
modem", but no hits.
Is there anything else I can try to get the modem/infra-red device
turned off, or any other tips/tricks I can look at?
Thanks
