There's likely to be a third-wire in there too. On my laptop the MiniPCI
card is a combined SoftModem and 802.11b. The of the leads of the wireless
antennas and the third wire is the modem analogue that goes to the RJ11 por=
t
on the back of the machine.
If you just swap out the card to the non-``IBM High Rate Wireless Combo''
card then you'll loose the funcationality of the modem (which is a case of
binary-only drivers anyway, tut, tut, etc).
