If you're using an RPM-capable distribution and build or install a
prebuilt RPM for the ltmodem drivers, the RPM should set your modem up
automatically and all you will need to do is just point your
communications app at /dev/modem .
Verified on Red Hat 8,9, and Fedora Core 1. I haven't tried Mandrake, but
I don't see why it'd be different there. Fedora's modem detection script
doesn't detect the internal modem when you start the internet
configuration "wizard", but it works all the same if you specify
/dev/modem ...
