[ltp] pre-installation advice?

Hello,
I can only tell from my experience with an X31, but it's a good thing
_not_ to boot the box before installing Linux, because the disk is
formatted as VFAT and will be automatically converted to NTFS the first
time you boot. There's some app in the Startup Items that converts the
disk which you'd want to remove then. As for generally booting XP before
installing Linux, it doesn't seem to make any difference, apart from
mentioned FS conversion.
