I don't think it is possible to control the fan under APM, but I think ACPI has
a fan module that is supposed to help in some way, however I haven't looked at
this yet, as I am currently running APM.

Have you got the kernel source RPM from FC2 installed? I don't know what it
would be called, as I am not a Fedora user.
