[ltp] 7K60 firmware upgrade ?

Hello,

Has someone already upgraded the firmware of his hitachi 7200 rpm 60GB
disk, according to this web page ?

And, is the predesktop area still accessible (from the "access ibm"
button) after this upgrade ? I'd also be interested to know the hda
characteristics reported by Linux at boot time, when 
 1. the predesktop area security is set to "normal" in the BIOS
 and 2. when it is set to "disabled".

(note, that the predesktop area can only be accessed with the "access
ibm" button, when the security level is set to "normal" and Linux should
report a different number of sectors for case 1. and 2.)

I'm a bit surprised by a side effect created by this upgrade : my
predesktop area is no longer accessible, and Linux always reports the
same sectors count for hda, without taking into account the security
level, that I defined in the BIOS.

I'd like to know if other persons experienced the same state after their
firmware upgrade ?
