You need ATI's binary only driver called FGLRX.
www.ati.com, drivers and software, choose linux, choose graphics driver,
and choose any video card on the list (The driver is the same for all of
them). Then click go.
On the next screen it will ask you to select your version of XFree. Then
you download an RPM. How your distribution deals with RPMs is another
discussion. I use gentoo and I used rpm2targz to convert it to a targz
file. I believe in Debian you can use alien to convert it.
