Definitely fast enough, IMO -- my T40 feels a little *faster* than
my Athlon 2100+ XP.

Attempting to keep XP intact while getting APM suspend in linux working is
a world of pain, in my experience ;) Just get the install CDs from IBM,
and don't bother keeping the windows partition around.
