Okay, let me apologize for the number of messages I've sent to the
list lately. But thank you to everyone who's responded -- it's been
extremely helpful.
Anyway, IBM's US web site can't seem to make up their mind as to
whether the T42 is out yet or not. One day it is, the next it isn't. But
through their partner program, I found a page with a PDF detailing all
their current ThinkPad models. No prices, but I think this is
authoritative so far as what the default configurations are. It appears
to be updated as new models are released.

Also, if your company happens to be an IBM partner (software,
hardware reseller, whatever), be aware that you can get a 40% discount on
up to 6 ThinkPads and 2 Intel/AMD servers per year (with 5 or 6
accessories too), and a 20% discount on the next bunch after that. I kid
you not. If you're definitely in the PartnerWorld program and you don't
know about this, ask me offline for more details.
