Thanks for the advice Ash. I ended up installing slmodem 2.9.7 after =
recommendations from linmodems. Now the modem compiled and installed =
allright and I dont get codec warnings as I did with a couple of the =
other drivers. I have two lines added to modules.config, but the module =
doesnt autoload. Do I have to add something else to the file? when I =
load the modem I get a warning about a tainted kernel. Then when I try =
to activate in network connections (I think thats what it is) I get - =
cant activate device -error 2. Is that because its already activated. If =
so, then how do I actually get on the net? Thanks in advance for any =
help.
