I prefer to stay as close to the vanilla kernel as possible. Most of the
fedora patches are geared towards server use, and of little use in a
notebook. Instead, I want to concentrate on integrating thinkpad-relevant
patches. Moreover, the kernel config is different from the default
fedora config (like Pentium M support).

I'll try the nvidia hack. Since it has to start an extra X server, I
always avoided it to minimize resume time.
