[ltp] Thinkpads can not boot from flash drive?

I've booted and installed linux on my x24 from a 16 MB usb flash
stick. As I recall it took a little work to get the image written
properly onto the stick so that it would boot. It took me a few trys.
I had to use dd I think. I used the fedora boot image.
