To understand your question, are you trying to configure your
Trackpoint?  The trackpoint and touchpad are configured as PS/2
devices, so all you need in the kernel is PS/2 support.  If it isn't
working in the console or X, then you'll need to configure gpm and X
properly.

Please clarify your question, including what exactly the problem is
and any relevant log or config file information.
