Is that "button/sleep SLPB 00000080 00000001"? If so, then you
probably just have the ibm/hotkey events disabled. Try this:
echo enable,0xffff >/proc/acpi/ibm/hotkey

The only new thing in 0.8 is a bug fix when attempting to load
ibm-acpi on something other than a Thinkpad, which is why I didn't
announce it here.
